Experience Columbus Visitor Center

Columbus, OH

Located in the new Columbus Visitor Center in the Short North, the Welcome To Columbus Mural Series is really a celebration of Columbus — especially Downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods. I wanted it to feel welcoming and familiar, So whether you’ve lived here for 15 years or you’re visiting for the first time, it sparks a little curiosity and makes you want to explore more of what Columbus has to offer.

Overall, the series is meant to feel joyful, full of character, and inviting to everyone who passes by.

Welcome to Columbus: Neighborhoods

The first mural in this series greets visitors as soon as they enter the Columbus Visitor Center, highlighting various Columbus neighborhoods .

Welcome to Columbus: LeVeque

The second mural in the series, also located in the Visitor Center, features a simplified rendering of the LeVeque Tower that complements the more detailed primary mural.

Welcome to Columbus: Short North

Located in the Experience Columbus office, this mural greets visitors as soon as the elevator doors open.

This mural highlights what is right outside of their windows, the Short North.

Welcome to Columbus: Iconic Landmarks

The final piece in the series is a custom wood installation displayed near the Visitor Center staircase landing. Serving as a quiet counterpart to the bold, colorful murals, it echoes the natural wood and warm tones of the space through layered wood, hand-carved textures, and wood-burned details.
